Pulleys

Pulleys allow the accessory power belt to be directed where it needs to go to drive accessory input power pulleys. So the pulley transfers the torque from the motor through the belt. This torque drives the mechanically driven accessories like alternator, water pump, oil pump and steering pump.

Various pulleys are used in a vehicle like Idle pulley, water pump pulley, crank shaft pulley and so on.
